New Sussex Barn

A bespoke Sussex-style barn built for a smallholding on the edge of the South Downs National Park. The design blends traditional materials with modern construction techniques, replacing the existing pole barn.

The project involved the demolition of an existing pole barn and the construction of a new Sussex-style barn. The new barn features a brick base, oak feather-edge weatherboarding, and clay plain tiles, staying true to local architectural traditions. Internally, the barn is supported by a steel frame and a hand-cut timber roof, ensuring both durability and aesthetic appeal. The design complements the surrounding landscape, providing practical space for the smallholding.
