The new house was built on the site of a demolished timber and asbestos structure, set back from the beach. The ground floor is elevated 1 meter above the surrounding ground to prevent flooding and to offer improved views over the shingle bank. On the ground floor, the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas face the sea, creating a seamless flow between spaces. The first floor features a master bedroom, with the remaining beach frontage taken up by a living room with a kitchenette and fireplace. The design includes a partial steel frame, colored weatherboarding, a natural slate roof, and self-cleaning glass balconies.
