Extensions and alterations to a large 1930s detached house in Beech Avenue, Chichester. The brief for this project involved working in several different areas of the house to create the layout the client desired. The house had been extended several times, and the hall and staircase felt rather small. A new entrance hall and staircase were designed, replicating the existing detailing, much of which was re-used (including the brick door arch and oak front door). An ensuite bathroom was added above the side entrance porch to serve a first-floor bedroom.
At the rear, the two central bedrooms were increased in size by building over an existing flat roof extension with a pitched roof and bay window detail.
A detached garden room was constructed as a games room and occasional annexe.
